HOW TO CARE FOR GOLD?

Gold is a precious and delicate metal. As the karat of gold increases, the gold metal becomes softer and more workable. For this reason, delicate filigree products are generally produced from 22 karat gold. Diamond solitaire rings, diamond five-stone rings, full eternity bands, rivière necklaces, rivière bracelets, and most jeweled design pieces are produced with 18 karat gold and 14 karat gold. In addition, 8 karat gold and 9 karat gold are also used in the jewelry industry today. Gold of this karat is harder as a metal and can be preferred in heavily jeweled design products to ensure a tighter connection between the stones. At the same time, 8 karat gold and 9 karat gold settings can be preferred by consumers due to their lower cost. When the polish and rhodium quality of 8 and 9 karat gold jewelry is kept high, they are indistinguishable from 14 karat and 18 karat gold jewelry.

To ensure the longevity of your gold jewelry, there are points to consider when wearing it:

  • Do NOT expose your gold jewelry, especially your rings, to detergents and cleaning agents for PROLONGED periods.
  • Avoid contact with salt and chlorinated water (pools, sea).
  • Protect your gold jewelry from friction and ensure it does not get hit.
  • When not wearing your jewelry, if possible, wipe it and store it in a storage box.
  • You can clean and care for your gold jewelry yourself using lukewarm water and chlorine-free liquid dish soap.
  • You can also polish your jewelry with special polishing cloths sold for gold jewelry.
  • Gold jewelry that has been used for many years and deformed with superficial scratches should undergo polishing and maintenance at professional jewelry workshops at regular intervals.

HOW TO CARE FOR DIAMONDS AND PRECIOUS STONES?

To ensure your jewelry lasts for many years, it needs to be carefully maintained and protected. You can easily care for your precious stone jewelry such as solitaire rings, solitaire earrings, full eternity bands, rivière necklaces, rivière bracelets, sapphire earrings, emerald sets, ruby rings at home.

Jewelry Care Tips:

  • Detergent Bath: Using any mild household liquid dish soap, prepare a small bowl of warm suds. Soak your jewelry in this water for half an hour. With a soft brush, gently clean the dirt around the settings, prongs, and pointed edges of your jewelry. Dry with a paper towel.
    • Important note: Do not expose your foil-backed diamond jewelry to water; clean it only by wiping.
  • To Protect Your Jewelry: Do not allow your jewelry to come into contact with strong chlorinated bleach. This will not damage your jewelry but will cause the gold polish to dull over time.
  • Do not place your jewelry mixed together in a jewelry box. Gold settings can scratch each other. Wrap your jewelry in tissue paper and store it in a small plastic bag or pouch.

Do not keep precious stones like pearls and emeralds closed for long periods, as they need air to maintain their vibrancy.
